Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav is an Indian international cricketer known for his left-arm wrist spin bowling. He plays for the Indian national team in all formats and represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).He has played a crucial role in helping India win major tournaments which include the 2024 T20 World Cup the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.[1][2]
Early Life
Kuldeep Yadav was born in14 December 1994, Unnao and raised in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father owned a brick kiln and supported his cricket dreams from a young age.Originally, Kuldeep aimed to become a fast bowler because Wasim Akram and Zaheer Khan inspired him. His coach recommended him to develop into a wrist spinner because he possessed automatic ball turning skills. Kuldeep studied Shane Warne's bowling videos to develop his skills as a legendary spinner.
Education
Kuldeep Yadav completed his basic education in Kanpur while focusing heavily on cricket training. He became a professional cricketer through his study-evening practice schedule which he maintained from childhood.
Career
Kuldeep Yadav started his cricket journey in domestic cricket playing for Uttar Pradesh. He gained attention during the Under-19 World Cup in 2014, where he performed well as a spinner.
Domestic Career
Kuldeep made his domestic debut for Uttar Pradesh and quickly established himself as their principal bowler. The Mumbai Indians included him in their 2012 squad but he only received limited playing time. His IPL career started when he signed with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. His performances improved over the years and in 2022 he joined Delhi Capitals where his match-winning spells established him as a reliable player.
International Career
Kuldeep made his Test debut for India against Australia in 2017 and impressed with his bowling. He made his ODI and T20I debuts in the same year against West Indies. He became one of the most successful wrist spinners for India in limited-overs cricket.
He achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian bowler to take two hat-tricks in international cricket. He also became the fastest Indian spinner to reach 100 ODI wickets. Kuldeep played a key role in India’s 2018 Asia Cup victory and he performed strongly in the 2023 Asia Cup where he won Player of the Tournament.
He has delivered several match-winning performances in ICC tournaments which include the World Cups and Champions Trophy.
