Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, is an Afghan cricketer. He plays for the Afghanistan national team. He established himself as a skilled off-spin bowler who achieved fast progress through his exceptional performances in domestic leagues and age-group cricket competitions. He has played for teams such as Mis Ainak Knights, Derbyshire, and Rawalpindi Raiders, and he has participated in multiple major franchise leagues which include the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Lanka Premier League (LPL).[1][2] [3]

Early Life

Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar was born in 20 March 2006 Paktia Province, Afghanistan. He developed an interest in cricket during his early teenage years and began playing seriously during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He started his cricket career as a fast bowler but developed his skills as an off-spinner with guidance from former Afghanistan captain Dawlat Ahmadzai. His bowling style has often been compared to Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Domestic and Franchise Career

Ghazanfar started his domestic career with Mis Ainak Knights when he joined Shpageeza Cricket League for his first game which took place in July 2022. He made an immediate impact, taking 1/27 on debut and following it up with a four-wicket haul, earning Player of the Match awards in both games. His international experience started when he played for Rawalpindi Raiders in Pakistan Junior League which allowed him to develop his skills at an early age.

He participated in different franchise leagues which included Abu Dhabi T10, and he joined teams like Far Western United in Nepal T20 League and Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League. He joined Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement player for their 2024 IPL season but he did not play in any games. He was also selected by Colombo Strikers to join the Lanka Premier League.

In November 2024, Ghazanfar was signed by Mumbai Indians for ₹4.80 crore for the 2025 IPL season but missed the tournament due to injury. He played for Derbyshire during the 2025 T20 Blast season, where he achieved 16 wickets across 14 matches, which included his outstanding 2/5 performance against Yorkshire. His contract with Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in Caribbean Premier League was also signed by him.[5]
