Early Life
Lungisani Ngidi was born in 29 March 1996 Kloof, Durban. His family background was humble because his mother worked as a domestic worker while his father served as a maintenance worker at a local school. He received a scholarship to Highbury Preparatory School and Hilton College where he started as a rugby player before switching to cricket. Ngidi developed his fast bowling skills under the guidance of former Zimbabwean all-rounder Neil Johnson which led to his subsequent success in South African domestic cricket.
Education
Ngidi completed his studies at Hilton College before he entered the University of Pretoria to study Bachelor of Social Sciences in Industrial Sociology. He followed an intensive training schedule which he combined with his academic studies to develop both his bowling capabilities and fitness level required for professional cricket.
Career
Lungi Ngidi is a fast bowler known for his speed and precise throws who developed his career from playing domestic cricket for Northerns and T20 leagues in South Africa. Ngidi joined Chennai Super Kings as a player in 2018 and then he played for Delhi Capitals during the 2022 IPL season.
