Yadav made his international debut for India in 2021 and quickly became a key player in T20 Internationals. He became India's third-highest run-scorer in the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup by scoring 239 runs during six matches. He scored his first T20 World Cup half-century in a match against the Netherlands.
He scored an impressive 111* runs from 51 balls while playing against New Zealand in November 2022. His performances earned him the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year award in both 2022 and 2023.
He achieved a fast century in the 2023 match against Sri Lanka because he scored 100 runs within 45 balls and reached 910 ICC rating points which stand as one of the top ratings in T20I history. He also made his Test debut against Australia.
He became a key player for India during the T20 World Cup tournament of 2024 because he made a critical catch during the championship match against South Africa. He became one of the few Indian captains to reach this achievement when he guided India to victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2026.
IPL Career
Suryakumar Yadav began his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians team in 2012. He played for the Kolkata Knight Riders team from 2014 until 2017 and won the IPL title with the team in 2014.
He returned to the Mumbai Indians in 2018 and became a vital component of the team. He played a major role in the team’s IPL title wins in 2019 and 2020. He achieved his best IPL performance during the 2023 season when he scored a total of 605 runs.
