Rajat Patidar is Indian international cricketer .He plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh and serves as captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the Indian Premier League. Patidar gained widespread recognition for his match-winning performances in the IPL and made his international debut for India in December 2023.[1][2]

Early Life

Rajat Patidar was born on 1 June 1993 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He developed an interest in cricket during his childhood because he grew up in a family that operated a business. He became a member of a local cricket club when he reached eight years old and later received professional training from his grandfather. Patidar started his career as a bowler but during his under-15 years he began to concentrate on batting because of his impressive abilities.

Education

Rajat Patidar completed his schooling in Indore. The information about his higher education remains incomplete but he managed to combine his studies with his expanding cricket career and he dedicated himself to developing his professional sports career since he was a child.

Rajat Patidar serves as an Indian international cricketer who plays as a right-handed top-order batsman and part-time off-spin bowler. Domestic Career

Rajat Patidar made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh on 30 October 2015 in the Ranji Trophy. He quickly established himself as a dependable batter and became the leading run-scorer for his team in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy with 713 runs.

He maintained his consistent performance through domestic tournaments because he served as Madhya Pradesh captain during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and showed exceptional skills. During the 2024–25 season he achieved status as one of the top run-scorers because his outstanding batting performance helped his team reach the finals.[3][4]

Franchise (IPL) Career

Patidar joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021 but he experienced a slow beginning to his career. He entered the IPL Eliminator as a replacement player after remaining unsold in 2022 and became the first uncapped player to score a century in IPL playoffs when he achieved an unbeaten 112.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru appointed him as captain for IPL 2025. The franchise achieved its first IPL title under his guidance which created a historic milestone for both Patidar and the franchise.

International Career

Rajat Patidar made his ODI debut for India on 21 December 2023 against South Africa. He later made his Test debut against England in February 2024. He shows promise as a middle-order batsman who will contribute to India’s future success although he has just begun his international career.[5]
