Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh is an Indian cricketer . He has represented the India national cricket team in all three formats of the game. He plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League and for Uttar Pradesh cricket team in domestic cricket. The right-arm medium-fast bowler has gained recognition for his skill to create swing through his bowling. He played a major role in India’s triumphant team at the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and became the first bowler to achieve the IPL Purple Cap award for two consecutive years.[1][2][3]

Domestic Career
Bhuvneshwar Kumar plays for Uttar Pradesh cricket team and has also represented Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy. He started his first-class cricket career when he played his first match against Bengal at the age of 17.

Indian Premier League (IPL)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru before he transitioned to Pune Warriors India during the 2011 season. After the team’s dissolution, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.
He played a crucial role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s title-winning campaign in 2016, taking 23 wickets and winning the Purple Cap. He became the first bowler in IPL history to win the Purple Cap in consecutive seasons.
He returned to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the 2025 IPL season and displayed outstanding abilities which helped his team achieve championship success.[5][6]
International Career
Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his international debut in 2012 against Pakistan in a T20I match, taking three wickets.
He made his ODI debut shortly after, taking a wicket with his very first ball. In 2013, he made his Test debut and was part of India’s victorious campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
All three formats of international cricket witnessed him achieving the uncommon accomplishment of obtaining a five-wicket haul. In 2013, he was the leading wicket-taker in a tri-nation tournament and was awarded Player of the Series.
His best Test performance occurred during India’s 2014 tour of England when he achieved 6/82 at Lord’s. Throughout his career, he played vital roles in series matches against South Africa and Australia and Sri Lanka.
He was part of India’s squad for the Cricket World Cup 2019 and the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021. He also served as vice-captain in limited-overs formats on multiple occasions.

Early Life
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was born in 5 February 1990 Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His sister introduced him to professional cricket when she took him to a coaching centre at the age of 13 which helped him develop his cricket skills.
