Mayank Markande
Mayank Markandeis an Indian cricketer.He represents Punjab in domestic cricket and plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Markande, who bowls leg-spin, made his first appearance for India in international cricket during February 2019 and he has received recognition as an emerging spinner talent in Indian cricket.
Early Life
Mayank Markande was born and raised in Patiala, Punjab. He developed an interest in cricket at a young age and often played in local grounds and school competitions. Coming from a cricket-loving family, Markande showed early talent, particularly in leg-spin bowling, which helped him stand out among his peers.
Education
Markande attended Yadavindra Public School in Patiala, where he represented the school in various cricket tournaments. His performances at the school level provided him the exposure and experience needed to transition into professional cricket.
Career
Mayank Markande began his professional cricket journey in domestic circuits with Punjab and he emerged as a talented leg-spinner. Domestic Career
Markande made his Twenty20 debut for Punjab in the 2017–18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 14 January 2018. Mumbai Indians selected him for their 2018 IPL auction after his performance in the tournament.
He started his List A career on 7 February 2018 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Bengaluru where he took seven wickets across his first two matches including a three-wicket haul on his debut.
Markande made his first-class cricket debut during the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy and established himself as Punjab's top wicket-taker by achieving 29 dismissals across six matches.
He represented India B and India C in the Deodhar Trophy and the International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as one of eight players to watch in the IPL during March 2019.
