Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is an Indian international cricketer. He represents the India national cricket team as a wicket-keeper batsman across all formats. His international career started when he faced the England team in March 2021.[1]
Ishan Kishan serves as captain for the Jharkhand cricket team while he plays for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. He achieved the record as fastest and youngest player to reach an ODI double century when he scored 210 runs from 131 balls against Bangladesh national cricket team in December 2022. He became the first player to score a double hundred after making his first ODI century. He served as captain for India during the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup while he played for the Indian team that secured victories in the 2023 Asia Cup and 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.[2][3]
Early Life
Ishan Kishan was born in 18 July 1998 in Patna. He belong from Goridiha village in Aurangabad district, Bihar. His father Pranav Kumar Pandey works as a builder while his mother Suchitra Singh remains unknown. He decided to join Jharkhand as his new team because the Bihar Cricket Association faced registration problems with the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Ishan Kishan took time away from cricket because he felt mentally exhausted from the game until spiritual guidance through Bhagavad Gita reading helped him regain focus.[4] [5]
Franchise Career (IPL)
Kishan started his IPL career with Gujarat Lions during 2016 before joining Mumbai Indians two years later.
His first major achievement happened during IPL 2020 when he scored 516 runs to help Mumbai Indians achieve their championship victory.
In 2025, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring a century on debut for the franchise.
English County Cricket
In 2025, Kishan signed with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and debuted against Yorkshire County Cricket Club, scoring 87 runs.
International Career
Kishan made his T20I debut in March 2021 against England, scoring 56 runs and winning Player of the Match.
