Early Life
Nitish was born in 26 May 2003 Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. From the age of five, he played cricket with a plastic bat and regularly watched senior players. Mutyala Reddy, his father, supported his cricket career by quitting his job when he was transferred to Udaipur to help Nitish focus on training. Nitish trained at VDCA camps under coaches Kumara Swamy, Krishna Rao, and Watekar, and later joined the ACA academy in Kadapa.[2][3] [4]
Career
The 2017–18 Vijay Merchant Trophy brought Nitish his first recognition when he achieved 441 runs from one batting inning which led him to end the competition with 1237 runs while maintaining a 17641 batting average. His 26 wickets during the tournament demonstrated his abilities as an all-round player.
Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired him during the 2023 IPL season for a cost of ₹20 lakh. The 2024 season marked his first successful season when he achieved 303 runs with a 142 strike rate while taking 3 wickets which earned him the Emerging Player of the Year Award. SRH retained him for the 2025 season at a cost of ₹6 Crores.
Nitish made his T20I debut for India against Bangladesh on 6 October 2024 and his Test debut on 22 November 2024 in Perth during the Border–Gavaskar Trophy. December 2024 marked him as the first Indian No. 8 batter to score a Test century in Australia.
Work and Contributions
Nitish contributes to winning matches through his effective performance with both bat and ball. He produced outstanding performances during the youth tournaments of Andhra Pradesh which included both batting and wicket-taking achievements. His IPL performances have delivered vital victories to SRH. His international matches with India T20I and Test teams have produced innings and bowling performances which led to match victories.
Awards and Recognition

The BCCI Best Crickater Award for Under-16 players in 2017-18 went to him after he achieved a record-breaking season during the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy.
