Henry competed in the 2019-2021 ICC World Test Championship which New Zealand won and he has played for his country in various ICC tournaments including World Cup finals.

Early Life

Matt Henry entered the world on 14 December 1991 in Christchurch New Zealand. He developed an interest in cricket at a young age and progressed through local cricket systems in Canterbury.[1]

Education

Henry completed his schooling at St Joseph's School in Papanui and later attended St Bede's College in Christchurch. He spent one year at St Joseph's College in Ipswich England to develop his cricketing abilities through a scholarship program.

Matt Henry stands out as one of New Zealand's most dependable fast bowlers because of his precise bowling skills and his ability to move the ball through the air and to perform during crucial game moments. He played for Somerset County Cricket Club during 2023 and he helped the team win a T20 championship by becoming the tournament's top wicket-taker.

International Career

Henry made his One Day International debut for New Zealand on 31 January 2014 against India national cricket team. He made his T20I debut later that year against Pakistan and his Test debut in 2015 against England cricket team. He gained fame during the 2015 Cricket World Cup through his performance in the final match which included taking essential wickets. He participated in the 2019 Cricket World Cup as part of the New Zealand team that finished as runners-up.

Henry achieved victory for his team in the 2019 semi-final match against India through his three-wicket performance which earned him Player of the Match recognition. Henry sustained his outstanding performance in international cricket through his Test match achievement of 7/23 against South Africa in 2022. He achieved a T20I hat-trick against Pakistan in 2023 which made him one of the few New Zealand bowlers to reach this milestone.

He has also been part of New Zealand squads for major ICC tournaments including the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC T20 World Cup.
